Perry Hi-Way Hose Company is a volunteer department covering Summit Township in Erie County, Pa. As of the 2000 census, Summit townships population was 5,529 residents with 2,110 households. This township consists of 24.04 square miles, which includes many major transportation routes such as I-79, I-90, US Route 19, and State Routes 99 and 97. Perry Hi-way Hose Company was founded in 1948 by concerned residents of Summit Township. The department now consists of over 30 members and answers over 1,000 calls including Emergency Medical Service, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Fire, and Rescue calls per year.
